GFD Employees wear pink to support breast cancer awareness month.

This October, members of the Gonzales Fire Department will be wearing pink.  That's right, for breast cancer awareness month the boys in blue will be the boys in pink.  Firefighters hope that the show of color will spread awareness during the month, and it will remind people that there is still no cure for this devastating and cruel disease.  Shirts are being sold for $10, with a portion to be donated to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Relay for Life.  If you are interested in taking part in this special time of year by making a donation or purchasing a shirt, contact Jessica at (225) 644-5307 or Email us.  We plan on making this an annual tradition, and we encourage everyone to get involved.  Together, let's help find a cure!
